Mr. Redwine is a native of Brunswick County and a resident of Ocean Isle Beach. He is a graduate of East Carolina University. He has been an independent insurance broker in his family-owned business, Coastal Insurance, for over 35 years.
Mr. Redwine was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 1984 and served 10 terms. He was Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee during his tenure.
He was elected to the Board of Trustees of East Carolina University in 2003. He is active in the Association of Independent Insurance Agents and in various civic and charitable organizations in Southeastern North Carolina.
