Robert C. Clay
Mr. Clay is the managing partner of Clay Realty Advisors, a real estate development, consulting and commercial/investment brokerage firm headquartered in McAdenville. He is a native of Laurel, Mississippi and attended the University of Michigan.
Following his Army service as a commissioned officer in Viet Nam, Mr. Clay worked with Xerox Corporation where he rose to the position of National Accounts Manager. He moved his family to Charlotte and began his career in real estate in 1981. Mr. Clay worked with MECA Properties before joining Koury Corporation in Greensboro, NC where he directed the planning and development of the 1400-acre Grandover Resort. He was employed as Director of Real Estate Operations with Pharr Yarns from 1994 until 2004 when he founded Clay Realty Advisors.
Mr. Clay is a Certified Commercial Investment Member of the National Association of Realtors and has served on the NC CCIM Board of Directors. He is a member of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors. He has served on the Gaston YMCA Board where he was named Board Member of the Year in 1999. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce and represents the Chamber on the Regional Roads Committee and chairs the Gaston County Land Use Development Committee. In 2009, he was named Small Business Man of the Year by the Chamber.
