Mr. Hamilton attended Roanoke Chowan Community College. He retired as a production engineer from the Newport News Shipyard in 2003.
Hamilton currently serves as a member of the NC Real Estate Commission, the Winton Democratic Precinct Committee, the C.S. Brown Cultural Center & Museum, Twelve Sportsmen's Club, the Newport News Shipyard Commuter's Club, and the Eastern NC Civic Group.
